About the Marketing Results Blog

This blog is authored by me, Will Swayne. I run an Australian Internet marketing consultancy called Marketing Results.

The reason why I started writing this blog is that most marketing communication is so tight-assed and corporatised. That has its place, but from time to time I’d like to talk more informally about stuff that interest me and that other business owners or marketers might find useful (things like Internet business, online sales lead generation, marketing automation, living the 80/20 way, the future of marketing, protecting our environment, what it all means etc.)

A little about me

I’m 31 years old and live in Brisbane, Australia.

My academic background is in Statistics and English literature, but to be frank, when I was at universtiy here I had no idea what kind of career I wanted to pursue.

As luck / fate would have it, I wound up in Japan in 1998, and later went on to get a position with a Japanese direct marketing (mail order) company that went from $0 to $100 million in revenue in 5 years…

I worked there for 3 years performing a variety of tasks: product development, international sales and marketing, database marketing and such and such. But after a while I got the urge to venture out on my own and made the move back to Australia.

Soon after returning, I started Marketing Results, and our services have gradually become more and more focussed on sales lead generation and website sales optimisation.
