Cool Tool For Researching Domain Name Availability, FAST
“All the good domain names are taken”.
That’s a line I hear quite often. While it’s true that many good (obvious?) domain names are taken, many are still available.
One tool I use quite a bit for checking domain name availability is AjaxWhois – here’s a brief 2m 47s video that explains what it is and what it can do for you.

If it’s really fast then I will try to use it. I hope there is also an encrypted security for their domain name search. Thanks for sharing!

Another tip – I’ve recently heard people say that .info domains can work out for SEO purposes… so it may pay off to consider options other than just .com if that’s your arena.

Love it! Thanks for the tip. The faster you can find the right domain name(s), the faster you can get to the real work!

Cool tool. All the domains are not taken yet, nor will they ever be

Man…..that is a great tool to know about. I bet that I spent the better part of a week trying to pick out insurance domain names for my company. This would have saved me much time!

This is much better than the normal way of finding a domain name. But it could be better if it can make domain name suggestions.

I really like how this tool shows the availability of a domain instantly without having to refresh the page. It also displays the whois detail in a pop-up window.

Thanks for the great resource Will! I have heard of this tool before but this is the first time I have seen a proper review and run down on its capabilities.

Thanks for sharing this. Normally when I have an idea for a domain name I head over to GoDaddy and check to see if it’s available. If it isn’t, I try different variations until I get a suitable domain name. That way is a little time-consuming though. This way looks loads faster =)

The search option is a much better alternative than trawling through the do follow blog lists produced on some other websites in the past as it allows you to quickly and easily target the exact phrase you are trying to optimise for.

Yep I found ajax too…after being sick of researching the old BULK domain name checker …Only problem now is the maintainance and the fees….Common web value …go up ! oh and no more creating new endings for urls…
