This Is Clever: The Credit Crisis Visualised

March 13, 2009 on 12:43 pm | In Recommended | 15 Comments

This is a very cool explanation of the origins of the current credit crisis. It’s not only a very clear explanation of a complex issue, but I love the visual design and presentation. Bravo to the creator, Johnathan Jarvis.

  1. Wow I never knew it was so complex. This explains why US is in such a crisis right now. I still think this is partly Bush’s fault lol

  2. You are right this is a very good explanation on what is going on. If an individual did what the corporations are doing they would probably end up in jail for fraud.

  3. Yeah, we’re in a bad place right now. Luckily SEO is one of the more lucrative venues out there. When compared to the yellow pages, it’s much cheaper and give a much better ROI.

  4. Wow it really does make things look bleak, but this is the only way to change things. We Americans have to feel the pain in order to make changes!

  5. I like the use of colors of this video. They are very peaceful and quiet and make a smart contrast to a dark a gloomy subject. Cool

  9. Interesting. It was a good video and it covered a lot but there is still so much more variables that came in to play and made the economy what it is.

  10. An interesting perspective. The credit crinch may have affected most businesses, however some businesses and industries have actually benefited from it.

  11. The credit problem will get worse before it gets better. Thanks for the nice overview of the problem. It is all a big chain reaction that affects every sector of the economy. Many small businesses are struggling because no one will lend them money anymore. The available cash on the market is limited and banks don’t have the money to lend. The bailouts are not much of a help either. Will have to see how this whole thing pans out.

  12. Wow, that is really interesting, I recently did a uni course called infostudio, where we use graphs/charts/animations to visualise data and make it meaningful, this is a perfect example!
