		<description>Hey Gideon

Thanks for stopping by...

There are a multitude of ways to use video on the web. Although I can't claim to be a video expert by any means, one important factor is to ensure that your video message is congruent with your goal.

A viral video shouldn't seek to sell via direct response, and a direct response video shouldn't expect to go viral.

You could also use *both* types of video as long as they are used in the appropriate way.

		<description>Hi Will

Nice vid - I actually liked it a lot. I thought it was really well put together...

Just loved that bit where the girl says: "You're just a person..., facebook is a website!" LOL

Brings up an interesting question about video as a marketing tool on the web.

Should one use it for entertainment? And therefore get attention? And therefore get traffic? And therefore be able to monetize the traffic?

Or

Use it straight out as infomercial type ads?

I like the first option better. And that seems to be what our friends at facebook seemed to have done. Kudos for them!

But it's tricky sometimes to get the right balance of entertainment and actually getting people to come to your website and buy stuff.

I suppose a big part of the entertainment aspect is to build relationships and to get "credibility" in the market.

It's certainly very interesting to see how things are developing with video on the web at the moment.

Catch ya later!
